New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The process of distribution of photo electoral identity cards for the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections started today with Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Satbir Silas Bedi kick-starting the door-to-door distribution from Timarpur Assembly constituency in North Delhi.
In a unique and first-of-its-kind door-to-door voter I-card distribution exercise, officers of the election office visited houses in the Delhi Government Flats locality in Timarpur and handed over the Photo I-cards to the electors.
The Timarpur Assembly constituency Number three has 1,52,564 voters out of which, 83,054 are males and 69,510 are females.

The election office published the final list of photo electoral rolls for 70 seats of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on October 15.
A lot of groundwork has gone into making of these voter I-cards as during the whole exercise, the election office kept coming out with explanatory advertisements and publicity campaigns about making of Photo I-Cards, BLOs, VERC, EPICs in both electronic and print media since May three last year.
Various FM channels like Red FM, Radio City, Radio Mirchi, AIR Rainbow and AIR Gold were specifically entrusted to inform the citizen about the BLOs and updation of rolls and submission and clicking of photographs again and again.
