Ahmedabad, Oct 22 (UNI) The 83rd session of Indian Philosophy Congress commenced in the Gujarat Vidyapeeth here today, to rethink the significance of Gandhian values at the end of the first decade of the new millenium.
Around 300 philosophers and researchers will discuss various issues including social equality and democracy and Gandhi's concept of Sarvdharma Samabhav and its teachings during the four-day seminar.
An Indian Philosophy Congress official said Gandhian values are very relevant in today's world, where religious tolerance is decreasing.
Explaining the rationale of the seminar, a participant said the world today is making material progress but it needs values in order not to make it inhuman. Gandhian values are most relevant in today's world. They are a perfect anti-dote for spiritual pollution in today's world, he added.
