Woman conduit among 3 militants held in J
Jammu, Oct 21 (UNI) A woman conduit among three militants of the Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin (HM) outfit were apprehended by police in twin districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.
'' Based on a tip-off, a police team laid a nakka on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Kud in Udhampur district and intercepted a vehicle late last night,'' official sources told UNI, adding a woman messenger of the HM outfit was also arrested along with her brother.
'' The woman identified as Hamida Begum and her brother Mohmmad Ashraf were on their way to Jammu from Anantnag when they were intercepted on National Highway by a police party,'' Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhampur-Reasi Range Alok Puri told UNI.
The duo had been put under sustained questioning, the DIG added.
On the disclosure of the woman, police later raided Barnai area and arrested one militant of the HM identified as Saleem Ahmed code Imran alias Idress.
''One Chinese pistol, one magazine, 130 rounds were recovered from his possession. He was putting up in Jammu and was assigned a task of triggering blasts in the city,'' well placed sources said.
''He was to receive an amount of Rs 25 lakh as hawala money through a channel to carry out various operations in the city but was held last night by the police,'' the sources said.
