Muzaffarpur, Oct 21 (UNI) Newly elected president of Bihar Olympic Association Prasanjeet Mehta today said steps would be taken to groom the hidden talent at block and village levels throughout the state.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Mehta said the hidden talents would be spotted and groomed for National and International level sports events.
He also asserted that sports championship would be organised at district and block levels to create urge among the youth.
''Despite efforts from various corners, desired results were yet to be achieved in the sports arena in the state,'' he added.
''Corporate sectors should play greater role by encouraging the youths in Bihar to participate in sports championship as they still feel financial insecurity to opt sports as their career'', Mr Mehta said.
The Olympic president felt that there were several players having talents to participate in National level championship but they were not delivering the results due to inadequate facilities and guidance. The state government should also play active role to promote sports in the state, he added.
