NRI murder case solved with arrest of main accused
New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The Delhi Police has arrested the chief accused in the murder case of Non-Resident Indian businessman K T Shameer, who was murdered by three taxi drivers on the late night of October 10.
Close on the heels of arrest of two accused Monu and Manish by IGI Airport Police yesterday, the Delhi Police arrested the third and main accused, Anil Kumar, late last night.
Anil Kumar, alias Kale, who as absconding since then, was arrested from Mahipalpur Bus Stand on a tip off, when he was returning from Riwari after visiting one of his relatives, police said adding that with his arrest, the case has been solved.
Anil, a resident of East Mehram Nagar in North Delhi, on interrogation told police that it was he who shot dead Shameer with a country made pistol in the taxi.
The pistol used in killing of the deceased has also been recovered from his possession, police added.
Besides, one knife, one of the two mobile phones of the deceased and cash worth Rs one lakh and fifty six thousand withdrawn by the accused using the deceased's debit card from different ATMs in Delhi, have also been recovered.
