Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) Assuring free, fair and fearless assembly election, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra announced setting up of Control Rooms (CR) at the Divisional, District and Tehsil levels in the State.
Interacting with leaders of various political parties here yesterday afternoon, the Governor said the Control Rooms would function round the clock and remain positioned till the ongoing Election process is over.
However, he said the telephone numbers of these CRs would be notified in the next few days to the headquarters of all the political parties as well as to the public at large, to be able to lodge reports and seek urgent help.
Mr Vohra reiterated his Administration's resolve to ensure free, fair, and fearless elections in the state.
He said the government machinery is being fully geared to meet the arising challenges and the necessary security environment will be generated for smooth electioneering by the political parties and contestants and for the maximum turn out during the ensuing seven-phase polls.
The meeting was attended by the senior leaders of the National Conference, the Congress, the Peoples Democratic Front, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party, the CPI and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The leaders gave valuable suggestions regarding the administrative, organisational and security requirements in the next two months.
