HC allows Centre goverment to implead in RIL-RNRL dispute
Mumbai, Oct 21 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today allowed the Union Government to implead itself in the case between RIL and RNRL over their gas supply agreement, after Anil Ambani group company RNRL said it had no problem to the government being a party in the matter.
A Division Bench consisting of Justices J N Patel and K K Tatedm gave the permission, following Government lawyer T S Doabia's earlier arguement before the court that government's approval was necessary for the rate at which RIL can sell the gas to other private parties.
In an earlier hearing, the court had asked the Central government to clarify its stand on why its approval was necessary for the price of gas to be produced by RIL in the Krishna Godavari basin.
The next hearing in the case will be after Diwali vacation.
