Gallows for servant for murdering employer's 4-yr-old son

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) A city court today sentenced to the gallows a domestic help for killing his employer's four-year-old son who was attempting to protect his nine-year-old sister from rape.

On October 19, 2006, Sanjay Das, the domestic servant of a businessman in Shakti Nagar area of north Delhi, murdered the four-year-old son of the businessman, who saw him sexually assaulting one of his two sisters.

Additional Judge Babu Lal found Das guilty of committing rape and murder and awarded death sentence to him along with a fine of Rs 3,500.

The servant, who is a native of Bihar, was hired three days before the incident. Besides the gruesome murder, he also made away with some gold rings and injured both the daughters of the businessman aged 9 and 17.

He was arrested from Rishikesh on the next day of the murder.

Though, Das confessed his crime before the court and did not want any trial after pleading guilty but seeing the gravity of the crime the court directed the trial.

Around 48 witnesses testified in the case.
