DMK appoints ex-AIADMK MP as party legal advisor
Chennai, Oct 21 (UNI) Senior Counsel and former AIADMK Rajya Sabha Member, N Jothi, who quit the AIADMK and joined the ruling DMK was today appointed as legal advisor of the party (DMK).
A release from party headquarters here asked partymen and office bearers to consult Mr Jothi on all legal matters in respect of party matters.
As the Opposition parties were filing false cases against DMK men, Mr Jothi would help them to deal with the litigation,it said.
Mr Jothi had been the counsel of former chief minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa for more than ten years and had appeared for her in most of the corruption cases filed against her.
He was the party's Rajya Sabha member for six years. When he was denied ticket for a subsequent term, he fell out of Ms Jayalalithaa and quit the party to join the DMK.
