CPI(ML) demands resignation of Patil, Jaiswal over MNS attack
Lucknow, Oct 21 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Lenninist) has sought the resignation of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal over the recent attack on NorthIndian students by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists in Mumbai.
Condemning the alleged misbehaviour with the students who had gone to appear in the Railway service examination, Uttar Pradesh CPI (ML) secretary Sudhakar Yadav said both the Ministers should resign from their posts after the humiliating incident.
He also fired a salvo at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for the attack, saying such incidents are meant to create differences among the people of the states.
An immediate ban should be imposed upon the MNS and stringent action initiated against its president Raj Thackeray, Mr Yadav demanded.
Janata Dal (United) has also, meanwhile, strongly criticised the MNS for its misbehaviour with the North Indians.
