Biharis prefer Gandhian way against Raj Thackeray's attacks
Patna, Oct 21 (UNI) To protest the violent attacks on Biharis in Mumbai, the youth here preffered ''Gandhigiri'' and instead of targetting Maharashtrians, they distributed sweets among them.
Inspired by the ''Munna Bhai'' character, played by Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, which instilled renewed faith in the Gandhian way of life, a group of youths preferred to do something unique to register their protest against the attack on their counterparts in Mumbai.
The group, all carrying portraits of Mahtama Gandhi, distributed sweets among the Maharashtrians living here.
The group bought sweets and visited a local branch of Maharashtra Bank and distributed sweets and flowers among the staff to welcome their presence in Bihar. They also garlanded the manager and hugged each of them to spread the message of love and peace.
Later, they also visited the office of an architect from Maharashtra to offer him sweets.
The idea behind the move was to assure Maharashtrians that they were safe and secure here.
Several Maharashtrians have been living in Bihar but were never attacked, the builder said, and appealed to MNS chief Raj Thackeray to stop attacking Biharis.
