Dehra Dun, Oct 20 (UNI) The Uttarakhand government will set up auditoriums in all 13 districts of the state to promote and preserve the rich cultural diversity and traditions of its people.
''The rich culture and traditions of the people of this state must be promoted and preserved. For this, multi-purpose auditoriums would be constructed in all districts of the state including one at the state-level,'' Chief Minister B C Khanduri said in a release.
The Chief Minister said this while laying the foundation stone for the project along with Tourism Minister Prakash Pant at Risparnapul area of the city here today.
The multi-purpose auditoriums would also aquaint the overseas Indian community coming to the state with the diverse culture, traditions and values of the people here through the cultural programmes, Mr Khanduri said.
Mr Pant said at the state level, a 25,000 seater auditorium would be constructed while in the districts, 275 seater auditoriums would be made. Gadi Cant area would have a 1000 seater auditorium, he added.
The construction of the auditoriums would be completed within 18 months at an estimated cost of over Rs 1 crore.
