New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) Police today claimed to have solved the alleged October 14 abduction and murder of a Non-Resident Indian, based in Saudi Arabia, with the arrest of two taxi drivers.
Accused Monu and Manish, both 24 years of age, were arrested as they arrived here from Haridwar, said the police, adding that their associate Anil alias Kale (20) was still not found.
During interrogation, both revealed that they abducted T K Shameer in their taxi and after tying his hands and feet, robbed him of his belongings and ATM cards.
They later shot him dead and threw his body near NH-8, between Manesar and Bilaspur, police added.
Police zeroed on them after checking the records of taxi drivers plying on the airport route, specially from nearby localities (Mehram Nagar, Palam, Mahipalpur and Jharera) as the NRI had gone missing after his arrival at the airport - on way to his home.
After it was found that three taxi drivers were missing since then, police contacted those knowing them and waited for their return as it was learnt that they had gone to Haridwar after the 'incident'.
Investigatons began after a 'missing' report was made on October 14 regarding Shameer, on his arrival here from Ahmedabad, by his family members here.
