School Principal, Superintendent arrested for bribe
Hyderabad, Oct 20 (UNI) ACB officials today arrested Principal and Superintendent of AP Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College in Jakaram Village in Warangal district for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 each from a complainant for doing an official favour.
According to a press release, Principal Challa Venkateshwarlu was caught red-handed by the ACB officials at the Police Station when he accepted Rs 10,000 from the complainant for issuing a cheque worth Rs 98,888 to the complainant pertaining to a catering bill for the month of September, 2008.
Superintendent of the school Gummadi Raghu was also caught red-handed by the ACB officials at his office when he accepted Rs 10,000 from the complainant for processing the same bill and putting up to the Principal, the release said.
The tainted amount was recovered from both the accused, who would be produced before Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
