Raj to move Mumbai court for bail
Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will file an anticipatory transit bail application before the Mumbai session court in response to a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a local court of Jamshedpur for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Biharis.
According to party sources, Mr Thackeray, who is out of town, will be back by tomorrow and expected to apply for a bail in the session court, which is permissible under the law.
A criminal lawyer Subhash Kanse said in that case, the MNS chief will not be required to be arrested, if he gets a bail from city court and his lawyer would represent him before a local court in Jamshedpur.
Jharkhand police officers had reached the city today with a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by the court of 1st class Judicial Magistrate A K Tiwary, directing him to be present before the court on November 17.
