Raj Thackeray criticised, burnt in effigy in UP
Varanasi, Oct 20 (UNI) The Hindu Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat has strongly condemned Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray for the recent attack on the North Indians in Mumbai.
Every Indian possesses the right to visit Mumbai as each citizen has contributed for the development of the state, Hindu Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat general secretary Sharad Rao said here.
The misbehaviour with the candidates, who had gone to appear in the railway service examination in Mumbai, reflects the mental state of the MNS chief, he alleged.
The Maharashtra government should ensure effective action against such leaders for spreading violence and discrimination among the people of the states, Mr Rao added.
Reports from Kanpur, meanwhile, said students raised anti-Thackeray slogans and burnt him in effigy at P Road.
Criticising the incident, student union leader Kamal Kumar said such type of ill practices would not be tolerated anymore.
