Lucknow, Oct 20 (UNI) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi would pay a day-long visit to Kanpur on October 24, where he is likely to attend a programme at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Dalit conference.
State Congress spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh has confirmed the visit of Mr Gandhi to Kanpur. He said that the Amethi MP would be attending a programme at the IIT Kanpur, but his presence at the Dalit conference has not been confirmed.
Congress leaders of Kanpur, however said Mr Gandhi would attend a Dalit conference on Friday titled as 'Social equality for all.' Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, who represents Kanpur Lok Sabha constituency, would also be present along with Mr Gandhi during the two functions.
