London, Oct.20 : England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar will spend a month on the Indian subcontinent training with the world's best spinners ahead of his team's tour of India.
According to England head coach Peter Moores, Panesar will be traing with former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed and several other spinners in India and Sri Lanka before the two-Test tour.
"It's a great opportunity for him. He wants to go there and learn. He's been before and he knows conditions are tough. He wants to get himself ready for India. Monty has not played for a while because he is not in the one-day squad. So he has this opportunity to get better and move himself forward," The Sun quoted Moores, as saying.
Spin king Mushtaq has been approached by Moores to work with England's slow bowlers while fast bowler Waqar Younis will tour India with the academy team.
Moores said: "Mushy is passionate to coach and pass on the information he's gained over the last 20 years. He's very good and speaks the players' language."
A stint in Sri Lanka will give Panesar the chance to get overs under his belt after being left out of the Stanford trip.
