Lok Sabha adjourned amid noisy scenes
New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was today adjourned within minutes of sitting till 1200 hours with the Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) members disrupting the House with their demand for a judicial inquiry into the Batla House encounter.
As soon as the House assembled, BSP members Akbar Ahmed Dumpy and Ilyas Azmi rushed to the Speaker's podium flashing a newspaper pointing to a picture on it.
Both of them were demanding a judicial inquiry into the encounter at Batla House in Jamia Nagar. At this point, members belonging to the Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Left parties also were on their feet. Nothing could be heard in the din.
The RJD members were trying to raise the issue of attack on north Indians by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Mumbai and the SP members were protesting the Shiv Sena comment that party leader Amar Singh should go and stay in Pakistan for his describing the Batla House encounter as fake.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee told BSP legilsators to raise the matter after giving due notice. He also told Mr Dumpy that he would also be provided an opportunity to air his views. However, the two members refused to be pacified and continued to remain standing near the podium.
With the ruckus showing no signs of abatement, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1200 hours.
