Panaji, Oct 20 (UNI) The match between Under-14 Leicester City Football Club and Guardian Angle School Goa, under the banner of Leicester India Football link, scheduled to be played today at Nehru stadium Fatorda in Margao, has been cancelled following the state wide bandh.
The ''Bandh'' call was given by Goa Mandir Suraksha Samiti to protest the recent vandalization of temples in the state.
The Goa Footall Association (GFA) acting secretary Jaju Fernandes said the series of matches with Leicester City Football club, which arrived in Goa yesterday, had been organised and first match was scheduled today but the organisers were forced to cancel it due to the Goa Bandh.
The three match series with Goa teams is a part of their tie up with the Goa Footall Association to help and promote the game under the banner of Leicester India Football link.
The next two matches of the series against Goa U-15 team on October 22 at the Poriat Ground and two days later against Goa XI at Duler ground Mapusa will be played as per schedule, Fernandes added.
