K'taka irrigation ministry to creat 150 new tanks
Bangalore, Oct 20 (UNI) Karnataka Minor Irrigation Minister Govind Karjol today said the department has planned to create 150 more new irrigation tanks this year in the state.
Talking to newspersons here Mr Karjol said the department had also prepared an action plan to take up 1,550 new works of tanks at a cost of Rs 616 crore for providing irrigation facility to 40,000 acres of land.
Mr Karjol said the department had instructed the officials to videorecord the works before and after their completion to bring an accountabilty of the projects.
He said he had urged the Chief Minister for setting up of separate land acquisition offices to take up new projects at Divisional levels for smooth process.
