Indo-Swiss JEC commits bilateral boost in trade
New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) The 11th Meeting of Indo-Swiss Joint Economic Commission (JEC) held here today commited to boosting bilateral trade, saying economic growth in India presents an attractive opportunity to Swiss business for making investments in various sectors.
The JEC, led by Department of Commerce Special Secretary Rahul Khullar and Ambassador Monika Ruhi Burzi from state secretariat for economic affairs, identified information technology and tourism sectors for increasing economic flows between the two nations.
Both sides welcomed commencement of the negotiations for the India-European Free Trade Association broad based trade and investement agreement.
The two delegations also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual concern, including the Doha Round of global trade negotiations, and expressed their commitment to multilateral trading system, Commerce Ministry said in a tatement.
