Germany's Malecki emerges overall winner

Kangra, Oct 22 (UNI) Andreas Malecki of Germany won the overall category in the fifth Himalayan paragliding Pre-World Cup 2008 which concluded at Bir-Billing today.

Malecki who took a purse of Rs one lakh was followed by compatriot Torsten Siegel (Rs 50,000) and Slovenia's Miha Razinger ( Rs 25,000).

In the Indian category Ajay Sharma stood first taking home Rs 50,000. Debu Chaudhary at second place bagged Rs 25,000 followed by Adie Kumar who won Rs 10,000.

Among women Svetlana Piskareva of Russia emerged victorious winning Rs 50,000 followed by compatriot Elena Dmitrievskaya of (Rs 25,000), Zdenka Kuntova of Czech Republic (Rs 10,000).

In the team event the winners were 50-50 Team (50,000), TB and SD (Rs 25,000), Russian (Rs 10,000) In Serial, Robinson Julian of Britain won the event and got Rs 50,000 followed by Russians Svetlana Piskareva (Rs 25,000) and Dmitry Chernyak (Rs 10,000).
