New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) Former Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and Nava Telangana Praja Party President Devender Goud today called on Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani seeking the saffron party's support for the creation of a Telangana state.
Mr Advani, on his part, assured Mr Goud during the 30-minute-long meeting that the BJP will support the cause of Telangana when a Bill comes up before Parliament. Mr Prakash Javadekar, in charge of the BJP affairs in Andhra Pradesh, and Mr Advani's media advisor Sudhindra Kulkarni were present in the meeting.
Mr Goud is scheduled to call on CPI leader A B Bardhan, seeking his party's support for the creation of Telangana.
Mr Goud said he would meet all leaders who are sympathetic to the cause of development of backward Telangana region. All parties are sympathetic to Telangana and even in Andhra Pradesh, those who were against the carving out the state, have come to accept the genuineness of the demand, he said without taking the name of his former party -- Telugu Desam Party headed by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
