Gurgaon, Oct 20 (UNI) Leading amateur HS Kang led his home team, the Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC), into the finals of the seventh McDowell's Signature Championship by the narrowest of margins in the Northern Regional final played at the Classic Resort here today.
CGC totaled 127 points which was enough to push them past Jaipur's Rambagh Golf Club that fell back by one solitary stroke to finish at 126 points.
The top scores in each category and the fourth best card out of the total six members contributed to the final tally of the respective team. Noida Golf Club, the three-time winners of the event and strong contenders here, had to be content with a third place finish.
With this win, CGC, who beat nine other clubs, became the second club to boo a spot in the grand finale to be held in Bali December after the unheralded and debutants Belgaum, making it to the title clash from the Southern Region.
