Manipal, Oct 20 (UNI) It was a special occasion for the visitors at Welcomegroup School of Hotel Administration where rare breads originated from different parts of the world were on display as part of the World Bread Day celebrations here today.
The celebration of Bread Day gave the students an opportunity to see, familiarise and to deal with variety ingredients used in baking all over the world.
Two hundred varieties of breads originated from different parts of the world having long history and background were recreated at the hotel for educating the student population of Manipal.
Rare breads such as Italian Baguette, Aphrodisiac Bread, Fig and Honey Muffins, Sicilian Bacon Wheel, and Chelsea Buns were displayed for public viewing and allowed to taste with accompaniments.
Common breads along with international breads were also on display.
The International Bread includes Kaiser, Portuguese Bread, German Oatmeal Bread, Rye and Beer Bread, Farmhouse Bread, Milk Loaf, Sheermal, Irish Soda Bread, Fried Cinnamon Rolls, Brioche, Chocolate Bread, Polenta Bread, Pane Di Mais and Pain De Champagne.
