AP Govt to provide benefit to families of deceased cops
Hyderabad, Oct 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government would provide an ex-gratia of Rs nine lakh to the families of the personnel from constable to sub-inspector level and Rs 12 lakhs to the circle inspector and above level, killed in violence by extremists and anti-social elements.
Additional Director General of Police (Welfare) Umesh Kumar said in additon to ex-gratia, the state government would pay the last pay drawn by the deceased, house rent allowance, compassionate employment, allotment of house site, free education to the children, medical facility to the family members, 75 per cent concession in second class train fare and group personal accident policy amount.
Mr Kumar said 496 officers and men have so far died in the violence by extremists and anti-social elements in the State.
The ADGP said from October 21, 2007, to till date, 35 police personnel, including 32 Greyhounds, were killed by extremists and anti-social elements.
