Vadodara, Oct 20 (UNI) Three minor girls, including two sisters, were killed and three others sustained injuries when a mound of earth caved in at Metada village in Padra taluka, about 25 km from here today.
Padra taluka development officer Jaidev Chauhan, who rushed to the spot, said the accident took place when the victims were collecting clay near the mound for making Diwali lamps.
Local residents rescued the victims and rushed them to the Padra PHC, where the three girls--Sejal Rathodia (9), her sister Manisha Rathodia (10) and Janki (7), were declared brought dead.
The injured, including an eight-year-old boy, were later shifted to the local SSG civil hospital, where their condition was stated to be serious.
