Sex, ex beau, txt msagng - the biggest turn offs on first date

London, Oct 19 : Sex might be the only thing on your mind, but don't dare make a mention of it on the first date conversation - or it might turn out to be the last one.

Suggesting a romp up is the biggest turn-off for women, revealed the survey for Internet dating site Craigslist.

And when it comes to men, they detest a woman talking too much about former relationships or spending too much time on her mobile phone.

Over 21 percent single blokes named phone calls and texting as their pet hate, and is the surest way to put off a man, because he cannot stand the competition.

The only consensus for both men and women was regarding personal hygiene-it was a big no-no for both of them.

Women, further, said that they hated their dates "putting me down or making jokes or comments at my expense".

"Men feel a great need to perform on a date. They are more competitive and their self-esteem is built on people laughing at their jokes," The Daily Star quoted relationship therapist Andrew Marshall as saying.

He added: "Look at their behaviour in a group, where the man who has centre stage is the alpha male.

"There's nothing worse when you're trying to perform than not having your audience's full attention."
