Vijayawada, Oct 19: The Ramachandrapura Math in Karnataka under the aegis of Jagadguru Sankaracharya Sri Raghaveswara Bharathi Swamiji would organise a "Viswa Managala Gou Grama Yatra" from Vijaya Dasami day next year.
Swamiji who was here on a visit today said the 'Yatra', aimed at highlighting the importance of cows and villages, would begin from Kurukshetra in Haryana and culminate at Nagpur in Maharashtra after covering all states and regions in the country.
The 'Yatra' with the motto of 'save cow-save villages' would cover a distance of 20,000 km in 108 days.
As many as 400 programmes would be organised, apart from 108 'Viraat Karyakram" (gigantic programmes) en route the 'Yatra', he said and claimed that seers and spiritual leaders like Mata Amritanandamyi, Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Dayanand Saraswati were supporting the cause.
He said during the 'Yatra', oath would taken to protect cows and a signature campaign launched to demand legislation banning cow slaughter.
