Punjab Govt to abolish all 'Mohalla Sanitation' committees
Patiala, Oct 19 (UNI) The Punjab Government would abolish ' Mohalla Sanitation' committees in all the towns in the state and chalk out a plan to regularise the employees of these committees.
An announcement to this effect was made by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while presiding over a state level function to commemorate the Parkash Utsav of Bhagwan Valmik here today.
Mr Badal assured that he would take up this matter with Local Bodies department for abolishing these committees in all the cities in the state. Earlier the government had abloshed such commitees in the five Municipal Corporation towns.
Regarding the Bhagwan Valmiki shrine in Amritsar district, he announced that a 'Development Committee' would be constituted to sort-out all issues related with this shriney. The Chief Minister also announced that a grant of Rs one crore for the development of the shrine.
