Nitish requests Deshmukh to ensure security cover to Bihari students
Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today requested his Maharashtra counterpart Vilas Rao Deshmukh to ensure foolproof security cover to Bihari students appearing in various competitive examinations there.
An official release said here today Mr Kumar had telephonic conversation with Mr Deshmukh on the matter during which he had requested the latter to take steps for foolproof security cover to the students from Bihar appearing in various competitive examinations in the state.
Mr Kumar also condemned the recent attacks on Bihari students, who had gone to Maharastra to sit for competitive examinations, conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board, and said those behind such attacks were ''anti-nationals'' deserving stringent action.
''Deterrent action should be taken against those responsible for such attacks,'' Mr Kumar said and directed the officials of the Bihar government to contact their counterparts in Maharashtra for seeking details about the incident.
