Lalu demands ban on Raj Thackeray
New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today vehemently protested against repeated attacks on north Indians in Maharashtra including Mumbai and described Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray as a 'mental' case who should be arrested for fomenting violence amongst Maharashtrians.
Terming Mr Thackeray's acts as terrorism, the RJD leader also demanded an immediate ban on the MNS. He said it was not the first time that north Indians had been targetted in Mumbai by MNS cadre at the behest of Mr Raj Thackeray.
Mr Prasad told reporters here that the recruitment examination held by the Railways in Mumbai, in which north Indians were attacked by MNS men, would not be cancelled. However, the Railways would institute an inquiry into the whole incident and definitely take into account the requests forwarded to it by those injured in the attack.
He said his party would raise this issue in Parliament tomorrow.
"We can express our anger. What else can I do?" he said.
