Srinagar, Oct 19 (UNI) With the announcement of the seven-phased Assembly election for Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have geared up for conducting smooth polls.
An official spokesman said today training would be imparted to polling officials personnel on October 20 to handle Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to ensure smooth conduct of Assembly elections in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
Training to the polling staff of Homeshalibugh and Bijbehara constituencies would be imparted at Town Hall Bijbehara, that of Anantnag constituency at Town hall Anantnag and staff of Dooru and Devsar constituencies at Town Hall Dooru.
Similarly, the staff of Kokernag, Shangus and Pahalgam constituencies would be given EVMs training at Town Halls of Kokernag, Shangus and Pahalgam.
According to District Election Officer, Kupwara, training to the officials would be imparted on October 21 and 23.
The poll staff of Handwara teshil will receive EVMs training at Environmental Hall, Handwara, while those belonging to Kupwara tehsil will get the said training at Deputy Commissioner Office complex, Kupwara. The poll staff of Karnah will get the said training at SDM office, Karnah.
Training programmes are yet to be finalised for the poll staff of other districts in the Kashmir Valley.
