French India movement demands Govt to announce Nov 1 as I-Day
Puducherry, Oct 19(UNI) The French India Viduthalai Kaala Makkal Iyakkam, a movement striving for the welfare of the people, who took the Indian citizenship at the time of merger of Puducherry with the Indian Union, today reiterated its demand that the administration should announce November one as the Independence Day of the Union Territory.
In a resolution adopted at the general body meeting of the movement here, it urged the administration to declare a public holiday on that day and hoist the tri-colour in all government offices and schools to mark the occasion.
Movement President D Sivaraj introduced the flag of the movement and hoisted it on a flag-post near the Tamizh Sangam building here.
