Jammu, Oct 19 (UNI) BJP will focus on ''neglected'' women of Jammu and Kashmir in the Assembly elections, announced for November 17 in seven phases, party's national president of 'Mahila Morcha' Kiran Maheshwari here today said.

Encouraging women fraternity to cast their votes in favour of BJP, the party assured welfare schemes to the women and sought co-operation in constituting next BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir.

''Larger participation of women in the rally has hinted at the change desired by the people of Jammu and Kashmir,'' Ms Maheshwari, Member of Parliament said while addressing a massive women rally organised by the BJP state 'Mahila Morcha'.

Ms Maheshwari asked women to enthusiastically take part in the coming elections and constitute the BJP government for the welfare of the state.

''Coalition partners -- both Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed to address the grievances of the people during their regime and this is the right time to decide between the right and the wrong,'' said Ms Maheshwari.

The women national president asserted that no welfare schemes were introduced by the coalition government for the ''neglected'' women in Jammu and Kashmir.

''Women should remind Congress and PDP of their unfulfilled promises made to them and you (women) pledge to participate in elections in large number and form the next BJP government,'' she added.

Politician turned famous television actress Vani Tripathi in her address said the BJP will be a decider in the coming Assembly elections.

''The voice of Jammu will reach every nook and corner of the country. The strength in which women supported Jammu agitation over Amarnath land row has created history,'' said Ms Vani, who is also the national general secretary of 'Mahila Morcha'.

However, BJP state president Ashok Khajuria said assembly elections will play a crucial role in bringing the discrimination with Jammu region to an end while BJP MLA from Himachal Pradesh Renu Chadha was also present on the occasion.
