B Ed entrance examination concludes in UP
Agra, Oct 19 (UNI) The joint entrance examination for the Bachelor of Education (B Ed) 2008-09, conducted by the Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar University here, conculded amid tight security across Uttar Pradesh today.
Media in charge of the varsity Girjashankar said a total of 58,135 B Ed aspirants appeared in the examination at 89 centers here.
The district administration had clamped Prohibitory Orders under section 144 and garrisoned policemen in strength at senstive areas for maintainance of peace in the Taj city, he added.
Some candidates, however, missed their examintaion and charged the University with conducting laxity in making arrangements.
The aspirants alleged they were stuck in the traffic on Kanpur-Agra highway and therefore, unable to appear for the B Ed entrance.
Over five lakh candidates appeared in the examination this year.
