Silver, gold down
Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) Value of silver and gold declined for the third consecutive day today with the white metal declining by Rs 150 per kg to end below 18k at Rs 17,975 and yellow metal by Rs 45 per ten gm to finish at Rs 12,585 from its yesterday's close, following lack of demand from local dealers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.
Within three days the white metal slid by Rs 1,310 per kg and while yellow metal paled by Rs 640 per ten gram.
Silver .999 variety opened low below 18k at Rs 17,795 on poor demand by jewellery makers.
Later, the white metal fell by Rs 150 and finished at Rs 17,975 per kg from its last close, on mild offerings by stockists.
Similarly, standard and pure gold opened at Rs 12,585 and Rs 12,645 per ten gm respectively, on lack of buying enquiries along with discouraing global advice.
Later, standard and pure gold slashed by Rs 45 and 55 per ten gm respectively from their last close on persistent offloading by stock holders.
Finally, standard mint and pure gold ended at Rs 12,585 and Rs 12,640 per ten gm respectively.
