Vilamoura, Portugal, Oct 18 (UNI) Striking four birdies in a space of six holes, ace Indian pro Jyoti Randhawa carded a two-under 70 to recover from a mid-round slump to be placed tied fifth after the second round of the Portugal Masters here.
Randhawa, who started with a flawless opening round of 66 sharing the second spot, has a total of eight under 136.
However, the other Indian in fray Shiv Kapur missed the cut by two strokes after he carded a 74 in the second round which left him two over 146.
The Delhi pro, who started his campaign from the 10th tee, opened with a birdie but dropped a stroke on the very next hole.
However, he gained a shot on the 12th but the Indian bogeyed on the 14th to make the turn even-par.
Later, Randhawa dropped consecutive bogeys on the first and second but recovered just in time firing four birdies in the space of six holes to leave a mark on the top-five.
Welshman Stuart Manley (68), who was at the top, continued to lead with a total of 11-under. Spaniard Alvaro Quiros (68) was however a stroke behind him.
