Chennai, Oct 18 (UNI) Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) Secretary General N Ramachandran was today elected as the President of the World Squash Federation (WSF) for a four-year term.
Mr Ramachandran was elected unopposed at the WSF's Annual General Meeting held at Manchester, SRFI sources told UNI.
He replaces squash legend Jahangir Khan of Pakistan.
It is for the first time that an Indian has been elected to the top post in the World Body of Squash.
Mr Ramachandran, who was instrumental in promoting Squash in India, is also, presently, President of the Asian Squash Rackets Federation. His term expires next year.
