Kathmandu, Oct 18 : Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda inaugurated the ashupati Festival '08 in Kathmandu on Friday.
Expressing hope that the festival would be instrumental in promoting religious tourism in Nepal, Prachanda said, "The event would further consolidate the friendly relations between Nepal and India."
The festival is being organised by the Pashupati Area Development Committee and the Manav Dharma Sewa Samiti.
Around 50,000 people are expected to attend the festival from India, nepalnews quoted Sunil Baidya, secretary of the organising committee, as saying.
Regions ceremonies, documentary shows and lectures from Hindu religious gurus are some of the features of the event.
