Chennai, Oct 18 (UNI) Japanese auto major Nissan Motors today signed a MoU with the Ennore Port Trust for exporting its vehicles to European countries.
The MoU was signed by Envore Port CMD S Velumani and Nissan Motors Managing Directr Shouhei Kimura in the presence of Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T R Baalu.
Under the MoU, Nissan would export about 1.10 lakh of its LCVs and cars by the second half of 2010 and increasse it to 180,000 units in future, Mr Kimura said after signing the MoU.
He said Nissan would roll out nine new models in the near future from its plant at Oragadam near here and export it to other countries.
Mr Baalu said business activites would flourish only if infrastructure was developed.
Observing that infrastructure was the password for any developing nation, he said if it was developed well, business activity would automatically flourish.
