K'taka appoints special prosecutor in defamation case
Bangalore, Oct 18 (UNI) Karnataka government has appointed a special public prosecutor to represent the state in its defamation suit against former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
According to a press release issued by the Home Department, here today, former Karnataka High Court Additional Judge Ravi B Naik had been appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor to argue the case filed against the Janata Dal(S) leader.
The state government has filed the case after Mr Kumaraswamy had alleged that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had illegally leased 14 acres of government land to a private real estate agency to build houses for economically weaker sections and commercial space on Public Private Partnership basis at Ejipura in the city recently.
