Guangzhou, China, Oct 18 (UNI) Rahil Gangjee fired the best round of the day, a seven under 64, to raise Indian hopes at the Midea China Classic here today.
Gangjee (70, 69, 64) is now placed tied seventh after round three. He is four strokes off the lead with an overall score of 10 under 203.
South Korean Noh Seung-yul is currently in pole position at 14 under 199.
Gangjee's blemish-free 64 in the third round was punctuated by birdies on the first, fifth, eighth, ninth, 14th, 17th and 18th.
Among other Indians in the fray, Anirban Lahiri (68, 70, 68) ended round three at the tied 20th position with a seven under 206 total. Lahiri's third round 68 featured five birdies and two bogeys.
Gaganjeet Bhullar (69, 67, 71) lies tied 30th at six under 207 while Digvijay Singh (68, 72, 68) occupies tied 35th place at five under 208.
