Four bandits killed in West Champaran
Bettiah, Oct 18 (UNI) A bandit, carrying a cash award of Rs one lakh, and three accomplices were killed in an encounter with a rival gang in West Champaran district today.
Police said Banti Yadav, along with his three accomplices, was crossing river Gandak in a boat to reach Bairia from the riverine area of Jogapatti when the rival gang attacked and killed all the four dacoits.
Later, police recovered the bodies of Banti Yadav and Surendra Yadav from the river. Divers had been pressed into service to fish out the other two bodies.
Banti Yadav was wanted by the police in connection with several cases since long.
