'Chandrayana' to be launched on time: Space Dept
Tirupati, Oct 18 (UNI) 'Chandrayana', the lunar exploration mission, will be launched as per the scheduled time if the weather conditions remained favourable, Scientific Secretary of Department of Space A Bhaskaranaryana said here today.
The launch would not be affected by normal rains, he said adding that as many as 76 Mission projects were underway in the 11th five year plan.
Above Rs 6,500 crore fund was allocated in the central budget for the spacework against Rs 4,800 crores last year.
The National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), which is a premier research center for Atmospheric Science in the country, will provide update and predictions on the climate changes to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) during launch of the mission slated on October 22, he added.
