UDF wants probe into ''fund diversion''
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 17 (UNI) United Democratic Front (UDF) Convenor P P Thankachan today said it would urge the Centre to probe the alleged diversion of the Centrally-sponsored National Rural Health Mission Fund.
Talking to reporters here, he alleged the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government was utilising the fund without any control or criteria by violating all norms in this regard.
Stating it was ''quite objectionable'', he said there was a need for a probe.
On the Vigilance case against Former PWD Minister M K Muneer, the UDF Convener said ''it is only a politically motivated move and the UDF will face it.'' Claiming Mr Muneer had not taken any illegal steps in awarding the contract of five road works in Malappuram District, he said before taking a final decision, he had sought concurrence from the Departments concerned.
