Server cold claims 1 life in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) A 65 year-old villager became the first victim of winters in the Kashmir valley after he died due to severe cold, a police spokesman said today.
He said body of one Abdul Rehman Kuchay, resident of Kokernag, was found at Simpthan Top in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
The cause of death was severe cold, as the deceased was coming from Kishtwar to Kokernag on foot, he added.
The upper reaches in the Kashmir valley received moderate to heavy snowfall while the plains received rains resulting in considerable drop in the temperatures.
