Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the need for the bypass was felt as the road to Sanjauli could not handle the increased flow of vehicular traffic. He hoped that with the commissioning of this bypass, vehicles heading for the upper HP regions would not come across traffic jams which were common in the Sanjauli bazaar.
He said the by-pass would be beneficial to the farmers and horticulturists for transporting their produce conveniently through the town to the outside markets. Tourists heading for Kufri, Narkanda and other popular resorts would no longer have to pass throug the congested bazaar of Sanjauli.
