Bung destroyed in Kashmir by police
Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) In its continued drive against the cultivation of banned crops, the Jammu and Kashmir police destroyed bung in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said today.
They said acting on a tip-off that some farmers were cultivating banned crops in their fields, a police party from Awantipora raided village Nirzapora, Kachachkote.
Later, they destroyed bung crops over 12 kanals of land.
Police has registered a case, they said, adding no one was so far arrested.
Banned crops, spread over thousands of kanals of land, have been destroyed by the police and Excise Department during the past two years in south Kashmir district of Anantnag and Pulwama.
